The Sydney Silverbacks Wrestling Club will return to Melbourne on Saturday the 15th of August to host a come and try day. This is your chance to get involved with Freestyle wrestling (a style that allows moves above and below the waist), and incorporates moves from Roman-Greco wrestling (a style that allows moves above the waist only).
The Sydney Silverbacks (also known as Harbour City Wrestling Club) is a gay/lesbian/straight-friendly not-for-profit community sporting club based in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1993, the club has since become incorporated and now runs weekly wrestling training nights, beginner workshops, regular intra-club tournaments and participates in international competitions including the Gay Games, and Don Jung Tournament in San Francisco.
Team Melbourne along with the Laird Hotel will be helping the Sydney Silverbacks organise events here in Melbourne with the aim of starting a local team.
Wrestling is a mixed sport and woman are encouraged to come and give it a go.
